Vintage Griffin and Skelley Raisin Packers Company Label
Established in 1881 Griffin and Skelley were pioneers in the California raisin and dried fruit industry. In 1916 Griffin and Skelley merged with the California Fruit Canners Association (CFCA) to create the California Packers Association and began marketing its products under the Del Monte name.
In 1916 the company operated 60 canneries in California, Oregon, Washington and Idaho. In 1967 the corporation decided to change its name to the Del Monte Corporation.
